What does OBTO mean?
OBTO stands for Organization Based Technology Optimization. OBTO is a platform where the AI client you already use, Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or Codex, builds, deploys and runs business applications and MCP tools, with permissions on every action, a history of every change and a receipt for every run.
The idea in the name
Technology shaped around how an organization already works, so software costs less to deliver, less to run, and over time drops out of view. The company's own line for it is that software should be invisible: it is there, it works, and the business gets on with what it does best.
What the product is
OBTO does not sell a model or a chat window. You connect the AI client you already pay for to OBTO's MCP endpoint, describe the application in plain words, and the client builds it as records on the platform: pages, API routes, server scripts, data collections and MCP tools. The platform hosts the result, keeps a restore point for every change, and records every run. Pricing is a flat price per deployed application; the model spend stays on your own key or subscription.
Who runs on it
OBTO Inc. is based in Albany, New York. The school management apps sold under the name SOFOS run on the platform, alongside the business apps that consultants and small teams build on it for their clients. The OBTO website you are reading is itself an OBTO app, which the page you're reading is a database record explains.
Where to start
The getting started page has the two-minute setup for each AI client. About OBTO has the longer story, and pricing lists the plans.
